To facilitate smooth travel for passengers during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, Bangladesh Railway has officially announced the schedule for the sale of advance and return train tickets. This year’s arrangement aims to ensure a comfortable and well-managed travel experience for holiday-goers.

The government has provisionally set the dates for advance train ticket sales ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha holidays, with tickets available from 21 May to 27 May.
During this time, travelers can purchase tickets for intercity trains scheduled to run between 31 May and 6 June. As in previous years, all tickets will be sold exclusively through online platforms.
Sources within the railway department have indicated that ticket sales for trains heading to the western regions—namely Rajshahi, Rangpur, and Khulna divisions—will begin at 8:00 AM and continue until 2:00 PM.
Sales for eastern routes, covering Dhaka, Sylhet, and Chattogram divisions, will start from 2:00 PM onwards.

Passengers can collect advance tickets from May 21 to May 27, 2025, for traveling between June 1 to June 7, 2025.

Return Ticket Sales (Post-Eid Journey)
For return journeys after Eid, ticket sales will begin from May 30 to June 5, 2025, covering travel dates from June 9 to June 15, 2025.

Important Guidelines
Each passenger is allowed to purchase advance train tickets only once, with a maximum limit of four tickets per person.
Please note that these advance tickets are non-refundable. Additionally, on the day of departure, 25 percent extra standing-room tickets will be made available. These standing tickets must be bought directly from the station counters and will not be sold online.
- No ticket will be available at counters on the day of travel.
- Each passenger can purchase a maximum of 4 tickets (combining onward and return) using their NID/passport/birth certificate.
- Tickets will be sold from designated counters and online platforms.
- Bangladesh Railway urges all passengers to travel responsibly and avoid overloading trains for safety.
Dedicated Eid Special Trains for Passenger Travel and Cattle Transportation
To accommodate the surge in travel and livestock transport during Eid-ul-Azha 2025, Bangladesh Railway has announced a series of special train services, including dedicated trains for both passengers and sacrificial animals (Qurbani cattle).
Special Cattle Trains to Dhaka
To ease the transportation of sacrificial animals to Dhaka, three special cattle trains will operate from Jamalpur:
- 2 June 2025 at 5:00 PM – From Dewanganj Bazar, Jamalpur
- 2 June 2025 at 3:40 PM – From Islampur, Jamalpur
- 3 June 2025 at 5:00 PM – Again from Dewanganj Bazar, Jamalpur
These trains are expected to reduce traffic pressure on highways and provide traders with a more affordable and organized transport option.
10 Special Eid Passenger Trains Announced
To ensure smooth travel for Eid-goers, Bangladesh Railway will operate 10 special passenger trains during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays:
Before Eid (4 to 6 June 2025):
- Teesta Special: Operates between Dhaka and Dewanganj Bazar
- Chandpur Special: Runs on the Chattogram–Chandpur route
After Eid (Return Journey: 9 to 14 June 2025):
- Teesta and Chandpur Specials will resume for return journeys.
- Two Parbatipur Specials: From Joydebpur (Gazipur) to Parbatipur (Dinajpur)
These services aim to alleviate travel difficulties and manage passenger flow effectively during one of the busiest holidays of the year.
Special Eid Day Trains to Sholakia Eidgah
On Eid day, four special trains will be operated to Kishoreganj to facilitate attendance at the Sholakia Eidgah, the largest Eid prayer gathering in the country. These trains will depart from:
- Bhairab
- Mymensingh
